Finally Falling Into Place

“When the time is right, I, the Lord will make it happen.”

~Isaiah 60:22

I like to think of myself as being a patient person. In many aspects I suppose I am, but when it comes to life decisions I want things “when I want it, how I want it.” Over the past year, I’ve learnt several things, one of the most important ones being that things don’t always pan out how you hope or expect them to.

Patience is a spiritual fruit. There are so many stories in the bible that illustrate the importance of waiting on His perfect timing. Abraham and Sarah had to wait 25 years before they had Isaac. Joseph spent 13 years going through much emotional and physical suffering before God fulfilled his prophetic dreams. I know that these stories are pretty extreme, and seem as though they couldn’t occur in this day in age, but often God does have a purpose in making us wait. He could be moulding our personality and teaching us to wait and trust in him, or he could simply be making us wait for something far superior that we could not even have imagined.

Although I’ve had to wait for almost a year, I have finally begun my new course in teaching- and I’m loving it! As far as the job front is concerned- I’ve finally got one working in one of Australia’s leading department stores. I’ve had to wait several months for both of these, but I guess it is God’s perfect timing. By being patient and waiting on God, we show him that we trust in his foreordained plans and purpose for each one of us.

“Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.”

~Proverbs 19:21
